FSA AUTHORISED

Insurance is an important aspect of moving home and since January 14th 2005 it is illegal for a Removal or Shipping Company to sell Goods in Transit insurance to a consumer if they have not applied to the FSA for authorisation or become a so-called "appointed representative" of a directly authorised company. Anyone not authorised who sells insurance after this date can be fined or even jailed.

If a company on this site has the above logo next to their name, it means that they are qualified to directly sell you insurance cover.

What are the benefits of using an FSA authorised removal company?

• Possessions are comprehensively insured
• Policies underwritten by major insurers providing complete peace of mind
• Professional policy documents with easily understood terminology
• Claims are professionally handled and promptly settled
• It is the customer who is insured, not the remover
• Claims settled direct with the insurer
• Your goods are covered no matter where you are going
• Insurance is authorised and regulated by the FSA

Any company who is not authorised by the FSA cannot directly sell you insurance cover. This will also affect their Contract Conditions, so therefore, please make sure that if you have any concerns regarding insurance for your goods whilst in transit you should double check that they have answered your questions correctly.
