Hunts Removals have specialised in European Removals for many years after the Managing Director, Neil James expanded the company in 1988.
Established by Mr A Hunt during the second world war in 1942 the company originally specialised in transporting cattle. The business expanded after the war providing a cattle transportation service, furniture removals and parcel carrying service within the U.K.
In 1963 Mr Hunt retired and Mr C James who worked as a driver for the company purchased the removals part of the business and it is still owned by his son Neil, today.
Originally located in Studley, Warwickshire and at the time named Hunts of Studley, in 1985, Mr James purchased land in Redditch and built a 10,000 sq ft container storage facility where they still operate from today. At the beginning of 2004, the company purchased the site adjacent to their existing premises which allowed them to double the current storage capacity and vehicles. Today, Hunts Removals also have a storage facility in France to assist them with all the removals and storage to, from and within the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands, that they are now being asked to undertake.
In 2009 Neil James retired and Adam Oakley took on the roll of Managing Director, with his wife Paula as Company Secretary. Adam started working for Hunts in 1992 and has worked in every position within the company including porter, export packer, continental driver, fork lift driver, warehouse manager, removal estimator and transport manager. And he is now looking forward to the new challenges of expanding this well respected removal firm over the next few years.
